Setting up an Independent Testing Environment for SBX

This guide covers how to quickly create an environment to test out SBX without affecting your existing mailboxes.

You can use either a Microsoft 365 Group or a Shared Mailbox to test SBX. We suggest that you create a new group or shared mailbox, so that any changes you test are easily reversible. Once you have a disposable group or shared mailbox, you can activate SBX’s trial.

Follow these instructions to create either a new group or shared mailbox:

  • Create a new group in Exchange admin center as in Microsoft’s tutorial. Change the settings of this new group to match SBX’s requirements as described in this guide.
  • Create a new shared mailbox in Exchange Admin Center as in Microsoft’s tutorial. Add all members who need access to the shared mailbox. No other changes to the shared mailbox are required for SBX.

Next, activate SBX’s trial. SBX will guide you through the initial setup. SBX has a free trial period of one month for your organization. No credit card is required.

Once you are done testing, you can simply remove the group or shared mailbox. SBX’s trial will end at the end of the month without any obligations.
